New article: Bamboo Ride on the Lí River
Friday, December 19, 2014
||The first evening in Yángshuò we met the owner of our hostel and we were asking him where to go next days to escape the crowds of tourists. The man was very kind and he also spoke English very well. „Finally someone will help us!“ We were trying to get as much information as possible. He showed us where to rent a bike and that we shouldn’t miss bamboo rafting on the Lí River. The nature in this area around the river should be amazing. He recommended us to take a boat Read more...

||Even though we enjoyed Guilin a lot, especially because of the cheap food which could be found on every corner, we had to continue further. One of the most beautiful sceneries of China was waiting for us. It was the area of round top hills surrounding the town of Yángshuò which is situated by the river Lí. For a while we were thinking of going from Guilin to Yángshuò by boat or bamboo raft but with regard to high prices we rather chose local bus. Read more...

New article: Hike up to Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces
Thursday, December 11, 2014
||One of the symbols of China are incredible Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces which are over centuries cultivated by local villagers in hard mountain terrain in South China province called Guanxi. We were curious how they are doing there and so we decided to make a trip to Longji. On our map it looked that the terraces are very close to Guilin. However when we asked how to get there in our hostel we found out it wouldn’t be that easy. Only one way by local transport Read more...
New article: How we discovered the real face of China
Tuesday, November 25, 2014
||After our bike trip in Guilin and its surroundings the other day we decided to explore the town by foot. At first we found local market with many street vendors. We bought salty pancake and we also wanted to buy sweet rice milk. The pancake was strange and little bit spicy but it was eatable. However we apparently didn’t choose the right rice flavor because we got overcooked salty rice in some chicken broth. We ate that delicious breakfast Read more...

New article: Guilin, the Gate to South China Karst
Monday, November 17, 2014
||„Wake up! Get ready to get off“ said a steward in the train poking us already at 5 a.m. to wake us up. We thought it was too early because the arrival to Guilin was still in one hour and so we fell asleep again. „Come on guys! Get up!” The steward was back in half an hour poking us a little bit stronger. :-) She looked a bit nervous as if it was her who was getting off. We didn’t want to provoke her anymore and we started to pack our stuff. Read more...
New article: China by train

||In the afternoon we packed our stuff and we took a metro to Shenzhen railway station which is the gate to People’s Republic of China. Hong Kong is a special administrative zone with its own system and currency - Hong Kong dollar. At the railway station we had to pass through many security procedures. After security procedure in Hong Kong we also had to pass Chinese visa and passport control. We have already had our Chinese visa from Prague. Read more...
New article: Hiking in Hong Kong
Tuesday, October 21, 2014
||After our arrival to Hong Kong we were impressed by surrounding green hills that were rising above the city. There is a hill called Victoria Peak which is situated in Hong Kong Island. This peak is very touristic because it is situated in the heart of the city. If you go a bit further from the crowds you will be rewarded by nice path around another close hill. We were quite surprised that after a few minutes of walking there were no people and we could admire beautiful view Read more...
